The 25-year-old royal visited the Bottle and Glass in Scothern, Lincolnshire, for a quiet meal and a glass of cider with members of the Red Arrows Royal Air Force (RAF) display team last Thursday (27.03.08).
The prince, who is currently undergoing basic flying training at the nearby RAF Cranwell, stood at the bar and happily chatted to locals before sitting down to enjoy a steak and ale pie.
Pub manager Kate Williams said: “The Red Arrows had booked a table, but when Prince William walked through the door it was a really nice surprise, we were stunned. It was all really relaxed and comfortable, neither the staff nor the customers made a fuss.
“He was very much left alone, able to relax and be with his colleagues without any hassle. He just wanted to be treated like everyone else.”
The Red Arrows, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, are a display team who perform manoeuvres in the air at events such as Queen Elizabeth’s birthday.
The prince will graduate from RAF flight school on April 11, after completing his four-month attachment at RAF Cranwell.
