The three-time World Heavyweight Champion – who will take part in the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) annual Royal Rumble later this month, which sees 30 men take each other on in an over-the-top battle royale until one man is left standing – has singled out the monarch for a turn in the ring.
When asked which member of the British Royal Family he would most like toslam into the mat, he said: “Oh, man! I guess I’d just shoot for the top and go straight for the queen. It would be champ against champ.”
Batista – who was the winner of the 2005 Royal Rumble match – also revealed a girl stole his signature black pants, which feature the words ‘The Animal’. He added to Nuts! magazine: “I once let a girl borrow them for her Halloween costume and I never got them back!”
This is not the first time the queen has been challenged to a sports match. Last month, glamour model Lindsey Strutt said she was willing to take on the 81-year-old royal in a game of darts, after the queen was revealed as an avid fan of the discipline.
After receiving some training from dart legend Eric Bristow, she boasted: “I have learnt so much from Eric, he has made a huge difference to my game.
“In fact, I’m sure I’m more than a match for the queen and I’m ready to throw some arrows with her.”
