Director Richard Eyre resets Mozart's domestic comedy to a manor house in 1930s Seville, broadcast live from the stage of the Lincoln Center For The Performing Arts in New York under the baton of conductor Joana Mallwitz. Bass-baritone Michael Sumuel and soprano Olga Kulchynska sing the roles of lovers Figaro and Susanna, who are excitedly looking forward to their wedding day. Figaro's master Count Almaviva lusts after Susanna and threatens the couple's happy union.
