Born in Germany, avant-garde artist and filmmaker Ulrike Ottinger spent the majority of the 1960s in Paris, where she was part of a German-speaking intelligentsia which congregated at Fritz Picard's bookshop Librairie Calligrammes. In this intimate and candid self-portrait, Ottinger looks back more than 50 years to reflect on her personal journey in the French capital as a twentysomething artist, incorporating photographs, home movies and film excerpts from the era.
