The 21-year-old star’s flop performance in I Know Who Killed Me – in which she plays both a school girl and her stripper alter-ego – earned her two nominations in the Worst Actress category at the Golden Raspberry Awards 2008, which recognise the worst films and performances of the last 12 months.

Razzie founder John Wilson said: “I Know Who Killed Me is the most fabulously brainless movie since Showgirls. By the end of it, you still don’t know what happened. Are they twins or aren’t they? Did she imagine it? Can I please have my hour and 50 minutes back?”

Eddie Murphy has eight nominations for his film Norbit, in which he played three characters, including two Worst Actor acknowledgments. Wilson said: “We decided that each of his characters was so offensive that he deserved individual nominations.”

Adam Sandler’s I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, a comedy about two firemen who pretend to be gay also earned eight nominations, including Worst Supporting Actress for Jessica Biel.

Up against Murphy and Sandler for Worst Actor are Nicolas Cage for lead roles in Ghost Rider, National Treasure: Book of Secrets and Next and Jim Carrey for The Number 23.

Lindsay will compete in the Worst Actress category against Diane Keaton for Because I Said So, all four of the lead child stars of the Bratz movie, Elisha Cuthbert for Captivity and Jessica Alba for Awake, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Good Luck, Chuck.

The winners will be announced on February 23, a day before the Oscars. Stars usually snub the Razzies, but Halle Berry famously turned up to collect her Worst Actress award for Cat Woman in 2004.
