The 24 star – whose father is actor Donald Sutherland – says when he realised how much money his dad was making by lending his voice to commercials, he wanted to do it himself.
He said: “My dad does the voiceover for everything from Sunkist to Volvo and one day I thought, ‘Hmm that seems a good way to make a living.’
“So I gave Volvo a call and told them, ‘I do a really good Donald Sutherland and I’ll do it for half of what he does it for’. I’m not sure he has ever forgiven me. I’m a bad son.”
The 41-year-old actor also admitted that despite recently filming horror movie Mirrors, the genre still leaves him terrified.
He added: “Horror films scare me. In the cinema, you pretend you’re all fine but I find myself looking at the floor a lot.
“I make a contract when I go to see a film, ‘I will surrender – take me where you want to take me.’ That makes me the prime candidate to have the s**t scared out of me.”
