If ever there was a story made for director Tim Burton’s trademark creepy visions, Lewis Carroll’s famous fantasy has to be it.

You’d think there’d be enough quirky characters in that one book to keep Burton busy for a lifetime, but somehow he’s managed to rein in his imagination long enough to make the film.

Among the usual suspects turning up for another outing in a Burton film are partner Helena Bonham-Carter, who plays the Red Queen and Johnny Depp, in the role of the Mad Hatter.

Other famous names involved include Stephen Fry who takes the part of the Cheshire Cat, Matt Lucas as both Tweedledum and Tweedledee, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Michael Sheen (the White Rabbit). 19-year-old Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is Alice.
