It would be easy to fall back on some eggs-cellent puns to back up this event – which is choc full of surprises – but instead the fun that can be had with some missing severed heads and a trip back in time can speak for itself.
The London Bridge Experience and The London Tombs is a two-part attraction built in 2008 inside the catacombs underneath London Bridge. The first part is The London Bridge Experience – a trip back in time through the life of London Bridge – from the first bridge built by the Romans 2000 years ago to the bridge purchased by Robert McCulloch in 1968 for Havasu City in the Arizona Desert.
Visitors take a tour through the numerous sets, meeting different characters and helping them search for their misplaced heads. Each one has their own creep story and the audience is invited to help them tear down the old Viking bridge, and then apply for the job as Keeper of the Heads. The Easter Head Hunt is a fun way to keep the kids entertained this Easter, and ensures they will go away having learnt something new as well. Clever detectives / children who have found all the eggs will get a delicious reward at the end of the hunt.
The London Tombs is the second part of the experience… and not suitable for under 11s without an accompanying adult. This is for good reason as you creep around the haunted catacombs as zombies and other unspeakable creatures leap out at you from the darkness.
This part of the experience is truly terrifying and not to be underestimated – take someone to grab hold during the scariest bits. Only the bravest daredevils will venture through the Bone Yard and the hall of the living dead – and the Bloody Butcher will turn your stomach with his blood curdling screams. Keep an eye out too for ‘Emily’, a sullen little girl whose ghost has been spotted sulking in the corner on more than one occasion!
The third element to the London Bridge Experience is The Peter Jackson Collection; a fascinating collection of artefacts and local finds which really help bring the London Bridge Experience to life – and an amazing scale model shows how crowded the bridge was during medieval times, and definitely puts into perspective the problems we think have to put up with today! The perfect way to cement the knowledge the children will have learnt in the London Bridge Experience – the Peter Jackson is the perfect place to visit before they drag you to the fantastic gift shop to pick up some thing to remember your visit by – jelly eyeballs, bone
sweeties, or a wind up zombie.
The London Bridge Experience is a historical and hysterical experience, and a perfect way to fill their Easter holidays but learn something exciting at the same time – and that is an EGGSTREMELY good way to entertain bored children this Easter 2009.
The Easter Head Hunt will run from 4th-19th April 2009
