The 19-year-old actress, the eldest daughter of two-time Golden Globe nominee Demi Moore and four-time nominee Bruce Willis, was awarded the prestigious title by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Miss Golden Globe is responsible for handing out the trophies at the annual awards ceremony and by tradition is the daughter of a celebrity.
Previous Miss Golden Globes include Melanie Griffith — daughter of Hitchcock’s leading lady Tippi Hedren — who gave out the awards in 1975.
Last year, Lorraine Nicholson, daughter of The Shining star Jack Nicholson was given the honour.
Kevin Costner’s daughter Lily was Miss Golden Globe in 2004 and in 1995 the title was given to a boy, Clark Gable’s son John.
Rumer made her movie debut playing Demi’s character as a child in Now and Then in 1995.
Next year, she is due to appear in thriller From Within.
The 65th annual Golden Globes will be held on January 13 and will be broadcast live on NBC at 8pm.
