Stand-up comedian Kate enjoys modest success. In between gigs, she auditions for TV commercials and seeks a clear direction in her professional life. After a nasty fall, Kate has an x-ray and a check-up, which reveals a lump on one of her breasts. She begins treatment but initially lacks the will to fight back against her cancer. Thankfully, a colourful coterie of patients undergoing similar treatment inspires Kate to remain positive and fiercely determined in the face of adversity.
