London Fashion Week is shrinking from a six- to five-day event next year, so if this were 2009, the catwalking would be pretty much over by now. Designers across the capital today seemed to be making the most of the extra time while they have it.

MeadhamKirchhoff (designed by Edward Meadham and Benjamin Kirchhoff – guess where they got the name) mixed Alexander Wang androgynous with biker bada**e and a morose version of Dolly Parton. The duo’s embellished slim-fit trousers might go well with a House of Holland top, but the lace-up leggings (with kneepads) should be a hit with anyone who like Nicolas Ghesquire’s innovative gladiator boots.

The Erdem show has confirmed three trends we’ve seen a lot of so far: loads of ruffles, ribbons for belts at the natural waistline, and bold, Miami-type prints that need to be worn with confidence to avoid looking Golden Girls-ish. The designer’s first look – a sleeveless, ice-blue lace gown cinched in with a strip of canteloupe-coloured satin – could be equally phenomenal with dainty silver heels or black studded bangles and booties.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label was more star-studded than leather-studded. Dita von Teese and Pamela Anderson were just two A-listers looking in on the action, and check our London style blog to find out more.

Friday brings a close to London Fashion Week, so check back later to find out what’s going on with Josh Goot, Modernist and more.
