The couple – who have been dating for 21 years – tied the knot in front of 200 friends and family in Los Angeles.

George, best known for his role as Mr. Sulu in the original Star Trek TV series and movies, made reference to the show’s catchphrase “Live long and prosper” when he declared, “May equality live long and prosper!” after the ceremony.

He told People magazine after the nuptials at the Japanese American National Museum: “All I can remember is what the priest said, that, ‘This moment will
never happen again’. It’s something to savour.”

George, 71, and Brad, 54, exchanged turquoise wedding bands during the ceremony.

After announcing their engagement in May, George said: “We’ve shared the good times as well as struggled through the bad. He is my love and I can’t imagine life without him. Now we can have the dignity, as well as all the responsibilities, of marriage. We embrace it all heartily.”

The newlywed couple are planning to honeymoon in Argentina and Peru.
