GALLIC flair comes to London this weekend in the shape of The France Show 2009, a multi-course taster for that country over the channel.

Food features big at the Earls Court show, with live cookery demos by top chefs including the very edible Jean-Christophe Novelli, samples of wonderfully pungent cheeses and a lip-smacking chocolatier extravaganza.
Then there’s the travel section, with sections on holidays, buying property and guides on how to learn ze strange language.
But come on, the main draw of The France Show 2009 has got to be the wine and the organisers say they’ve doubled the number of wine-tasting seminars for this year’s show. Santé! There’s also a champagne and oyster bar, a new entrant to the event.
Other newbies include a music stage – don’t worry, there’s little to no chance Johnny Hallyday will turn up – and a pétanque pitch.
The France Show 2009 runs from 9 until 11 January. It’s a tenner a ticket and opening hours are 10am-6pm Friday and Saturday, 10am-5pm Sunday.
