Violet D’Souza was due to make the claims about Liz – who has a reported UKP13 million fortune – and her millionaire husband Arun Nayer at an employment tribunal tomorrow (21.02.08).

However, the case has now been dropped after Violet was offered a five-figure settlement, which prevents her from discussing anything.

Violet claimed she was working up to seven days a week at the couple’s London home, sometimes starting the day at 7.30am and not finishing until 3am the next morning.

Her chores included cleaning, cooking and babysitting Liz’s five-year-old son Damian.

She allegedly received just UKP100 a week, which works out between UKP1.40 and UKP1.60 an hour, way below the UK minimum wage of UKP5.52.

Violet – whose main perk was the offer of airline tickets to see her family in India – claimed she was fired last August without notice.

She then visited the Citizens’ Advice Bureau and decided to lodge her complaints.

Violet has now dropped her claims after receiving the payout.

A spokesman for London’s Kingsway Employment Tribunal said: “We can confirm this claim has been withdrawn and the pre-hearing review has been cancelled but cannot discuss the reasons.”
