SEXY BEAST – the latest designer perfume for dogs – will be unleashed on 29 November for the Pet a Porter fashion show at Harrods, it has been announced.

A pedigree night out, featuring a line up of leading designers including Vivienne Westwood, Issa and Ben de Lisi, will show-case creations modelled by canines on the ‘dogwalk’.

The Harrods event follows the lead of pet outfitters Mungo And Maud’s, which unveiled its own Petit Amanda Eau de Toilette this week. Created by renowned perfume designer Lyn Harris, Petit Amanda also comes as a matching shampoo, for canines who co-ordinate.

Though most owners would agree that given the choice their dogs would bolt for the park and wallow in Eau de Manure, celebrities such as Sienna Miller are backing a scent “inspired by nature with notes of French blackcurrant, Tunisian neroli, mimosa and violet leaf on a base of sweet vanilla”. A steal at UKP38 for 50ml.

Fronting the campaign for Petit Amanda is Shirley the Basset Hound, dubbed the Kate Moss of dog modelling, who is on a UKP25,000 deal.

Shirley is “one of the best behaved bitches in the business,” according to an industry insider, and beat 29 hopefuls at the final auditions.

With Christmas just around the corner, perhaps the question of what to get the dog who has everything has been answered.
