Overlord (18)

US paratroopers descend into occupied Normandy to destroy a German radio tower, which has been erected on the roof of a church. This daredevil mission led by explosives expert Corporal Ford. His small squad includes privates Boyce, Chase, Grady, Rosenfeld and Tibbet. They discover the Germans are conducting diabolical experiments in the catacombs of the church that could change the course of the conflict. The scope of the mission must be expanded to neutralise this new threat.

Revival of the harrowing 1975 wartime drama, which uses archive documentary and news footage to chart the fortune of one soldier, Tom Beddoes, as he makes his way to the beaches of Normandy. Following Tom through training and then to active service, Overlord provides a piercing insight to the courage and determination of Allied forces to storm the landmine-strewn beaches on D-Day, sacrificing countless innocent, young lives in the name of freedom.
