Prince Harry forked out £24.05 for a late-night Nando’s chicken feast to celebrate England’s World Cup qualification on Tuesday night (15.10.13), but wimped out by opting for a lemon and herb sauce.

The flame-haired royal went unnoticed by customers as he arrived at Nando’s Fulham Broadway branch after watching England’s football team book their trip to Brazil 2014 with a 2-0 victory.

Harry waited for more than 15 minutes as his chicken breast fillet in pitta bread with a lemon and herb marinade – the mildest flavor the Portuguese/Mozambiquan eatery offers – was being prepared.

A surprised onlooker told the Daily Mirror: “It was surreal. He was very charming and politely refused a member of staff who approached him for a picture. I was gobsmacked to see him.”

The 29-year-old prince added extra cheese and creamy mash potato to his chicken pitta, and his order was completed by a double chicken breast wrap with a medium spice marinade, a regular side of chips, a soft drink and a mineral water.

Harry was joined at the restaurant by an unknown friend and two minders, who were dressed casually, and when he departed the restaurant staff took it in turns to sit in the seat he had occupied.

Another witness added: “Moments after he left the restaurant clutching his dinner in a paper bag a member of staff jumped on the bench the Harry was sitting on and shouted: ‘I’m on the Prince’s throne!’ Nobody could believe what happened.”
