Detective Noredin has risen through the ranks because of family ties rather than genuine talent. His uncle is district police chief Kamal and Noredin exploits his position by demanding protection money from the weak and the vulnerable. During a daily prowl of 2011 Cairo with his younger partner Momo, Noredin is called to the Nile Hilton Hotel to investigate the death of a female guest. The victim turns out to be a famous pop singer and Noredin recognises the signs of a professional hit.
