On September 26, 1983, alarms sounded at the Soviet nuclear early warning center Serpukhov-15. Stanislav Petrov was on duty and had to react immediately to a report that five American nuclear missiles were inbound. Petrov sensed it was a false alarm and convinced his country’s armed forces to stand down. This documentary follows Petrov as he travels to America to meet broadcaster Walter Cronkite and belatedly receive the acclaim for his historic deed.
