Provincial Bulgarian teacher Nadezhda is struggling to make ends meet. Adding to her woes, her drunkard husband Mladen has used the money intended for their mortgage to buy spare parts for a camper van. Faced with foreclosure, Nadezhda foolishly borrows money from a loan shark, naively believing that he will give her plenty of time to pay back the money. As her situation worsens, Nadezhda’s mental state unravels and she is faced with the terrifying prospect of losing everything.
