Documentary filmmakers Saeed Taji Farouky and Michael McEvoy paint a vivid portrait of the war in Afghanistan by embedding themselves on the frontline with the 3rd Brigade of the Afghan National Army’s Heavy Weapons Company in the southwestern province of Helmand. Led by a battle-hardened commander called Jalaluddin, the men including rookie private Sunnatullah encounter life-or-death situations and lose members of the company as they battle the Taliban and their own insecurities.
