Multimedia artist Doug Aitken embarks on an experimental trek across North America, stitching together 62 one-minute films to represent a high-speed journey by train from the Atlantic to the Pacific over 24 days. En route, Aitken joins forces with various creative participants, who talk about their surroundings and influences. Beck performs with a gospel choir in the Mojave desert, and Jackson Browne explains how the railroad has an indelible influence on his music.
