Single mother Marta has just lost her job as a security guard and she is struggling to pay the bills and keep a roof over the head of her son Junior and his baby brother. Exhausted and emotional, Marta has little time to indulge Junior’s fantasies of becoming a pop star and when the lad tells her that he wants to straighten his afro hair, she resolutely refuses.
