Celebrated Canadian filmmaker Guy Maddin writes and directs this love letter to his beloved home city, blending fact and fiction to his own voiceover narration. Coloured animated segments break up the black and white vignettes, chronicling episodes from his childhood as seen through the eyes of an alter ego, conversations with his domineering mother and sister Janet, and key moments in the city’s history.
