Kusama: Infinity (12A)

Born in 1929 in Matsumoto City, Japan, Yayoi Kusama moved to New York in the late 1950s where she developed her artistic practices. She embraces Minimalism, Pop Art and Surrealism as she explores the theme of cosmic infinity through her instantly recognisable motif: the polka dot. This documentary traces Kusama’s personal journey from rural Japan to New York, where she faced racism and sexism, and back to present-day Tokyo where she is regarded as one of the world’s greatest living artists.
