Impressionistic biopic of Gustav Klimt, beginning with the artist on his deathbed. The film rewinds to witness the painter’s glory years, including his meeting with Lea de Castro, who would become his muse. Dogged at every turn by his secretary, Klimt battles against the conventions and expectations of early 20th century society, courting controversy to create the foundations of the art nouveau style that would find favour almost a century later.
