Sonny and best friend Sam live in the town of Wardenclyffe. The boys explore an abandoned house, which used to belong to author R. L. Stine, and discover a lost manuscript entitled Haunted Halloween. By opening the book, the tykes inadvertently unleash demonic doll Slappy, who intends to marshal dark forces to create a Halloween that the world will never forget. Sonny and Sam unite with Sonny’s older sister Sarah and Stine to defeat Slappy.
