Mark and Sally are on the verge of splitting up in present-day Bradford and the toxic atmosphere in the family home has a profound impact on their son Zac. Taking his lead from his mother’s far-right literature, Zac stabs mosque leader Rehman and begins plotting a deadlier attack on the Muslim community. Rehman’s son Yusuf is devastated by the attack and feels helpless as his father lays in hospital on life support. A rival committee member exploits the tragedy to stage a coup at the mosque.
