Donmar Presents Julius Caesar (15)

Originally staged in 2012 in London’s West End, Phyllida Lloyd’s all-female staging of one of Shakespeare’s most demanding plays was revived last year at a purpose-built theatre near King’s Cross. This recording of one of the live performances stars Jackie Clune as Julius Caesar, who has triumphed in the war against Pompey and returns to Rome as the darling of the people. Some of the senators fear Caesar now wields too much power so Caius Cassius hatches a murderous plot with the help of Marcus Brutus.
