Troubled writer Xavier endures a messy divorce from ex-wife Wendy, who intends to take their two children to New York to raise them with her new boyfriend. Scared that he will lose touch with his family, Xavier follows Wendy to the Big Apple, where he blags a room with his Belgian friend Isabelle and her girlfriend Ju. Isabelle is desperate to be a mother and Xavier repays her generosity by agreeing to become a sperm donor.
