THE PLAYBOY CLUB is to return to London, 30 years after the famous bunny brand left town.

Back in the 1960s and 70s, the Playboy Club was part of what made up the legendary ‘Swinging London’ scene of newfound sexual liberation.
In Playboy’s case the freedom was for rich men to look at scantily glad young women with two rabbit ears on their heads and a bob tail where the sun don’t shine.
The bizarre costumes didn’t stop a roster of glamorous customers – Michael Caine, Joan Collins and Sean Connery among them – from showing up at the Club.
It was to those halcyon days that Playboy boss Hugh Hefner referred when he announced the early 2011 opening of the new club.
“When we first opened the Playboy Club in London it was one of my favourite times for the brand,” he said.
“I look forward to our return to London and again sharing the notions that are celebrated in the magazine; the concept of good food and drink, pretty girls and exciting entertainment.”
The new club will be in Mayfair, near the site of its Park Lane predecessor that closed in 1981. Like the old club, the new one will be a combination of gambling den, restaurant and members club. And rabbit-girls.
